Liatris spicata, commonly known as Dense Blazing Star or Marsh Blazing Star, is an herbaceous perennial native to prairies, meadows, and moist lowlands of eastern North America. It features tall, grass-like foliage and vibrant, fluffy spikes of reddish-purple flowers that uniquely bloom from top to bottom. It attracts a wide variety of butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds.
