Lady Banks
The Lady Banks rose is a vigorous, thornless climber known for its massive display of miniature blooms and its incredible longevity. Unlike many other roses, it is nearly evergreen in milder climates and is famous for being one of the most low-maintenance and disease-resistant roses available. It creates a breathtaking canopy of yellow or white flowers in early spring, making it a timeless favorite for large gardens and pergolas.
Grow Guide
- Light: Plant in Full Sun to ensure the best bloom production and overall vigor, though it can tolerate light afternoon shade in very hot climates.
- Hardiness: Suitable for Zones 6–9, showing excellent heat tolerance and adapting well to the Southern and Western United States.
- Spacing & Size: This is a massive climber; it can reach 15–20 feet (or much more if left unpruned) and spread 10–12 feet wide. Space accordingly to allow for its extensive reach and provide a very sturdy support structure.
- Watering: Water regularly until the plant is fully established. Once mature, it is remarkably drought-tolerant.
- Best Use: Perfect for covering large fences, arbors, or even climbing into trees. Its thornless nature makes it ideal for high-traffic areas or near walkways where people might brush against it.
