Fourth of July
The Fourth of July™ Climbing Rose is a spectacular large-flowered climber celebrated for its vibrant, patriotic color palette. As the first climbing rose to win the All-America Rose Selection (AARS) award in over 20 years, it is a garden favorite for its “fireworks-like” clusters of large, 4.5-inch semi-double blooms. Each flower features a striking blend of velvet-red and bright white stripes, accented by sunny yellow centers and a delightful, spicy apple fragrance.
Grow Guide
- Light: Plant in Full Sun (at least 6+ hours of direct sunlight) to ensure maximum bloom production, the best disease resistance, and overall plant health.
- Hardiness: Highly adaptable and suitable for Zones 5–10, making it a hardy choice for a wide variety of climates across the United States.
- Spacing & Size: This vigorous climber typically reaches heights of 10–14′ with a spread of 3–6′. Space accordingly to allow for healthy air circulation, which helps prevent foliar diseases.
- Watering: Provide medium moisture, watering deeply and regularly—mornings are best to avoid wet foliage overnight. It prefers well-drained garden loams and does not tolerate standing water.
- Best Use: Its long canes make it ideal for training over arbors, trellises, fences, or pillars. The fragrant, long-lasting sprays are also excellent for cutting and creating festive floral arrangements.
