Sunbelt® Tupelo Honey™
The Sunbelt® Tupelo Honey™ is a robust and radiant Floribunda rose from the Kordes® Sunbelt® collection, specifically bred to maintain its vigor and color in high-heat and humid environments. It produces large, very full blooms (up to 4″ across) in a striking butterscotch-yellow that hold their color beautifully throughout the season. Each flower is packed with 55–60 petals and releases a mild, sweet fragrance reminiscent of honeysuckle. With its upright habit and glossy, dark green foliage, Tupelo Honey™ offers a sophisticated backdrop for its frequent flushes of sunny blooms, all while maintaining top-tier resistance to common rose diseases.
Grow Guide
- Light: Plant in Full Sun (at least 6+ hours of direct sunlight) to fuel its high-volume bloom production and ensure the best disease resistance.
- Hardiness: Highly adaptable and heat-tolerant, it is suitable for Zones 5–10, thriving in challenging climates where other yellow roses might fade or struggle.
- Spacing & Size: This rose has a vigorous, upright habit, typically reaching 4–5′ tall and 3′ wide. Space accordingly (3′ apart) to create a lush, flowering hedge or to allow for proper airflow in a mixed border.
- Watering: Water regularly until fully established. Once mature, it prefers deep, consistent watering at the base—about an inch per week—to keep the plant hydrated and the glossy foliage dry.
- Best Use: Its excellent vase life and sturdy stems make it a premier choice for cutting gardens and floral arrangements. It is also a fantastic option for hedges, borders, and mass plantings due to its healthy, bushy form.
