Veranda® Lavender™
The Veranda® Lavender™ is a chic and compact Floribunda rose from the Kordes® Veranda® collection, specifically bred to offer the charm of an English rose in a smaller, patio-friendly package. It produces an abundance of very full, cupped blooms in a stunning shade of true lavender. This variety is celebrated for its exceptional health and “tidy” habit; its dark green, glossy foliage remains remarkably resistant to common diseases like black spot and powdery mildew. Because it maintains a petite and bushy form, it provides a sophisticated and continuous display of lavender blooms from late spring until the first frost without overwhelming the landscape.
Grow Guide
- Light: Plant in Full Sun (at least 6+ hours of direct sunlight) to ensure the most vibrant lavender color and promote a dense, compact growth habit.
- Hardiness: Resilient and suitable for Zones 5–11, making it an excellent choice for a wide variety of North American garden climates.
- Spacing & Size: This rose is naturally dwarf and bushy, typically reaching 2′ tall and 2′ wide. Space plants 2′ apart center-to-center to create a seamless low hedge or mass planting.
- Watering: Water regularly until established. Once mature, it prefers consistent watering at the base—about an inch per week—during dry periods. Avoid overhead watering to maintain the health of the glossy foliage.
- Best Use: Its petite size and high bloom count make it the premier choice for containers, window boxes, and small urban gardens. It is also ideal for edging walkways or the front of a mixed border.
