Veranda® Mango
The Veranda® Mango™ is a vibrant and compact Floribunda rose from the Kordes® Veranda® collection, designed to deliver the lush look of a classic rose within a space-saving, modern habit. It produces abundant clusters of very full, cupped blooms in a warm, glowing shade of bright orange-coral that perfectly mimics the hue of a ripe mango. This variety is exceptionally healthy and disease-resistant, featuring dark green, glossy foliage that provides a striking contrast to its tropical-colored flowers. Because it maintains a petite and bushy form, it provides a continuous and cheerful display from late spring until the first frost, making it a “sweet” addition to any sunny spot.
Grow Guide
- Light: Plant in Full Sun (at least 6+ hours of direct sunlight) to fuel its high bloom production and ensure the most intense, non-fading mango-orange color.
- Hardiness: Resilient and winter-hardy, suitable for Zones 5–11, allowing it to thrive in both northern gardens and hot southern climates.
- Spacing & Size: This rose is naturally dwarf and bushy, typically reaching 2′ tall and 2′ wide. Space plants 2′ apart center-to-center to create a dense, low-maintenance border or mass planting.
- Watering: Water regularly until established. Once mature, it prefers consistent watering at the base—about an inch per week—during dry periods to maintain its vigor and healthy foliage.
- Best Use: Its petite habit and high flower count make it the premier choice for containers, patio pots, and window boxes. It is also ideal for edging walkways or the front of a mixed border where its vibrant color can truly pop.
