Buttercream Drift®
The Buttercream Drift® is a cheerful and resilient addition to the Drift® series, known for its soft, buttery-yellow blooms that fade to a delicate creamy white. This compact groundcover rose produces abundant clusters of double flowers that stand out against its glossy, dark green foliage. Bred for toughness and repeat blooming, it offers the beauty of a classic rose with the low-maintenance “easy-care” nature of a landscape shrub, flowering continuously from spring until the first frost.
Grow Guide
- Light: Plant in Full Sun (at least 6+ hours of direct sunlight) to promote the most prolific flowering and maintain its dense, compact habit.
- Hardiness: Exceptionally cold-hardy and heat-tolerant, suitable for Zones 4–11, making it one of the most versatile roses for various climates.
- Spacing & Size: This low-growing, mounding shrub reaches approximately 1.5–2′ tall and 2–3′ wide. Space plants 2–3′ apart to create a lush, seamless groundcover or low hedge.
- Watering: Water regularly until established. Once mature, it has average water needs but should be watered deeply at the base during dry spells to maintain plant health.
- Best Use: Its small stature and spreading habit make it ideal for borders, walkways, and mass plantings. It is also a fantastic “thriller” for containers and patio pots where space is limited.
