Carolina Campion
The Silene caroliniana, commonly known as Carolina Campion, Wild Pink, or Sticky Catchfly, is a North American native perennial with pink flowers. It’s sticky stems earn it the “catchfly” name. This native is especially beneficial for butterflies, hummingbirds, and other early-season pollinators.
Grow Guide
- Light: Full sun to part shade
- Hardiness: USDA Zones 4–8
- Size: Height of 4–8 inches with a spread of 12–18 inches
- Watering: Requires low to moderate moisture. Highly drought-tolerant once established, it requires well-drained soil to thrive.
- Best Use: Perfect for rock gardens, dry slopes, pollinator gardens, and perennial borders. It makes an excellent groundcover and edging plant.
