The Coral Drift® is a vibrant standout in the Drift® series, celebrated for its brilliant coral-orange blooms that maintain their intensity even in high heat. This low-growing, mounding shrub produces abundant clusters of small, double flowers that appear in early spring and continue in waves until the first frost. With its glossy, deep green foliage and exceptional resistance to rust, powdery mildew, and black spot, it offers a “high-impact, low-maintenance” solution for adding a pop of tropical color to any landscape.
Light: Plant in Full Sun (at least 6+ hours of direct sunlight) to ensure the most prolific bloom cycles and healthy, dense growth.
Hardiness: Highly resilient and suitable for Zones 4–11, allowing it to thrive in both northern winters and humid southern summers.
Spacing & Size: This compact groundcover typically reaches 1.5′ tall and 2.5′ wide. Space plants 2–3′ apart to create a lush, continuous flowering carpet.
Watering: Water regularly until fully established. Once mature, it is remarkably drought tolerant, though it performs best with consistent moisture at the base during dry spells.
Best Use: Its spreading, mounded habit makes it perfect for slopes, erosion control, and mass plantings. It is also an excellent choice for edging walkways or adding bright color to patio containers.
